What to Post on Your Google Business Profile Every Week

Ideas for weekly Google Business Profile posts that local businesses can actually keep up with, plus how photos, videos and offers help customers choose you.

Your Google Business Profile is often the first thing a customer sees, before your website and before your Instagram. Posts, photos and videos are what make it look alive. Here is the weekly routine we use with our clients, adapted so any small business can keep it going.

Why posting matters

Posts appear on your profile in Search and Maps. They give people one more reason to call you, show that the business is open and active, and let you highlight the services you most want to sell. A profile that has not changed in months looks abandoned next to a competitor that shows fresh work every week.

The weekly routine

One post per week

Pick one theme per week and rotate:

  1. A finished job. Before and after photos of a kitchen, a roof, a painted house or a clean office, with one or two sentences about what was done and in which town.
  2. A service in focus. Explain one service, who it is for and how to book it.
  3. An offer or seasonal tip. A fall gutter cleaning, a winter insulation check, a holiday menu. Use the Offer post type when there is a real deal with dates.
  4. Your team. Introduce the people who show up at the customer’s door. Trust sells local services.

Add a clear button (Call, Book, Learn more) to every post.

Photos and videos every day you can

Besides the weekly post, upload real photos and short videos of the day’s work. Use your own pictures instead of stock images: customers want to see your trucks, your uniforms and your results. Vertical videos recorded on a phone work well, as long as they are steady and well lit.

Answer questions and reviews

Check the profile a few times a week, answer new reviews and reply to questions. Fast answers show the business pays attention.

What to avoid

  • Stock photos that do not show your real work.
  • Posts with only a logo and no information.
  • Promising discounts you will not honor.
  • Copying the same text every week.

Keep it consistent with your other channels

The same job can become a Reel on Instagram, a post on Facebook, a photo on your Google profile and a project on your website. Recording once and publishing in every channel is how small teams stay present without spending the whole week on social media.

At Leader we keep our clients’ profiles moving every day with photos and videos and publish weekly posts for them. If you want to see what your profile is missing, ask for a free audit.
